Restless Heart was among contemporary country’s most popular groups during the 1980s and into the mid-1990s. The band comprised of seasoned musicians - drummer John Dittrich, bassist Paul Gregg, keyboardist Dave Innis, guitarist Greg Jennings and vocalist Larry Stewart - in many ways Restless Heart was Nashville’s version of the Eagles the band was a darling of both radio and critics and was that intangible link between 1970s West Coast country-rock and today’s country mainstream of Lonestar, Rascal Flatts and the Randy Rogers Band.

In 1986 WHEELS became their breakout album with four consecutive number one country singles—That Rock Won’t Roll, I’ll Still Be Loving You, Why Does It Have To Be (Wrong Or Right) and Wheels—in addition New York (Hold Her Tight), I’ll Still Be Loving You and Why Does It Have To Be (Wrong or Right) were hits on the Adult Contemporary charts. Furthermore, I’ll Still Be Loving You made the top 40 on the pop charts and the album was certified gold.

BIG DREAMS IN A SMALL TOWN, their third album was released in the summer of 1988 and they scored two more chart-topping singles with The Bluest Eyes In Texas and A Tender Lie, whilst the album’s title song and Say What’s In Your Heart both made the top five as they gained their second gold album.

They produced a legacy of music which is easily equal of the Eagles, and more cohesive than many of today’s mainstream country bands.
