Barbara Fairchild’s vibrant personality, her love for humour and storytelling along with her extraordinary talent for singing country and gospel music has helped to make her one of the finest country entertainers to emerge during the 1970s countrypolitan era.
Barbara made her commercial breakthrough in 1973 with Teddy Bear Song, which not only topped the American country charts but also crossed over to the pop charts and received substantial radio play in the UK.
Barbara made an impression with UK country fans following tours in 1978 and 1979 and the UK release of her albums. She even hosted her own one-hour BBC-TV special.
