Charley Pride is one of country music’s most accomplished troubadours, scoring more number one country singles than Johnny Cash and more gold records than Merle Haggard.

He won three Grammys and became Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year, and its Male Vocalist of the Year twice selling 40 million records in the US alone and emerging as one of the few truly international country stars, Charley Pride became a Grand Ole Opry member in 1993 and seven years later was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Between 1966 and 1987, Charley Pride achieved career stats that others could only dream about, with 53 single releases making it to the Top 10. 29 of those singles, including Is Anybody Goin’ To San Antone, All I Have To Offer You (Is Me), It’s Gonna Take A Little Bit Longer, and Where Do I Put Her Memory reached number one with Kiss An Angel Good Mornin’, crossing over into the American pop charts during 1971

During the mid-1970s he was the biggest-selling country singer in the UK with top-selling albums.
