Just in time for their 2011 jubilee, UMBRA ET IMAGO have thought about something very special!

On June 10th, 2011, coinciding with the band’s special show at Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2011 in Leipzig, a very special single will be released!

We’re talking about nothing less than 1930’s Grande Dame Zarah Leander’s “Davon geht die Welt nicht unter”.

Matthias „Matze“ Ambré took over arrangement and production of this German UFA classic and once again proved his musical versatility. It is the combination of nostalgic German “Schlager” elements with harsh modern Goth Rock sounds that creates the characteristic “Matze Factor” for which Matze himself is best known around the scene.

As for special guests, the band is proud to announce LEX of MEGAHERZ fame, who sings the song together with UMBRA ET IMAGO’s main man Mozart as a duet, accompanied by a fully-featured choir.
LEX’s and string players’ Ally “The Fiddle” Storch-Hukriede’s (violin) and Sylvia Eulitz’s (Cello) works were recorded in Matze’s brand new studio, the Ashborn Sound Studio – a well-mastered “baptism of fire” for this just-finished and really cosy cult studio!

With this single, UMBRA ET IMAGO made a coup that once more reflects the many facets, the creativity and the authenticity that this band has reached during their 20 years of existence.

Moreover, the song itself features a great deal of the overall mood our world is in these days. Bundled with the typical irony of this very special band from Karlsruhe (Germany), but also with their stunning musical precision, the song reflects our society as it was in the 1930’s and as it is today.
A real highlight in the band’s oeuvre!
